Canal Cruise to Worsley

A bit off topic, but the Friends of the Bridgewater Canal (Sale) are organising a canal cruise to Worsley on Sunday 19th August 2012. This will cross the famous Barton Aqueduct over the Manchester Ship Canal and pass the Monton Lighthouse. It will depart from the moorings at the King’s Ransom Pub (Sale) at 11am.
This will be a one-way cruise with return to Sale by mini-bus. Refreshments will be served on board and there is a cash bar. The cruise will also include a guided tour of the Worsley canal basin area.
Tickets are £16 each from cruise@salefestival.org.uk or by phoning or texting 07785918722 or 07526670210

Green Gym – Equipment Problems

The defective Skier machine has now been replaced with an updated model.

However, we are aware that there now s a problem with the other Skier and also with the Space Walkder that is near this Skier. Both problems have been reported to Trafford Council and they have contacted the equipment provider who is sending an engineer to inspect the equipment.

Sunken Garden – New Layout

In common with other parks in the Borough, the Council are reducing the amount of areas using bedding out plants. This is due to the reduced levels of staffing and other resources now available.

The Sunken Garden has been re-designed to be more sustainable, using more perennials.

Where are tyre and zip wire?

You may have noticed that the tyre and zip wire have been removed from the children’s play area. Apparently they have had to be replaced and Trafford Council is currently waiting for prices for replacements from the supplier.

Welcome to Worthington Park in Sale

Featured

A very warm welcome to the website of the Friends of Worthington Park in Sale.

We are a group established to work with Trafford Council, the local community and other partners to safeguard and improve the facilities in this local park.

We are proud to announce that, once again, the Park has retained the prestigeous Green Flag Award status.

We hope you find this site interesting and that you will visit often to find out what is happening in the Park. If you live locally, why not join us to help improve the Park. If you don’t want to get too involved, we would also welcome people who could help, even occasionally, at the events we organise in the Park e.g. help with erecting gazebos, staffing stalls etc.
Please download our Membership Form and email to  volunteer@worthingtonpark.org.uk if you are willing to join our database of helpers.
