Worthington Park has been assessed as one of the best three parks in Trafford.

On Sunday 22 October 2017 the Trafford Baha’i Community planted a cherry tree in Worthington Park to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the birth of Baha’u’llah.

I have volunteered to help a local G.P. who is launching a project to set up walking groups based on 16 G.P. surgeries in Trafford. These walking groups are aimed at leading groups of people who are relatively inactive or have a medical condition such as Type 2 diabetes. Typically, such walks take place once a week, are local, last for about an hour and are tailored to the needs of the walkers.
We are looking to recruit and train a number of volunteers who might consider leading such walks, or in supporting the leaders with guidance.
In the first instance I am looking for people who might be interested to come to an initial, no- obligation, free training session led by Walking for Health – a national charity which can accredit leaders for these types of walks. This is on Tuesday 10th October at Sale Sports Club, Dane Road, Sale, M33 2DE. Tea and coffee and a light lunch will be provided free of charge. Participants will arrive at 9.45 and the training will finish at 4 p.m. at the latest.
Promoting exercise is the best way to combat a number of diseases and conditions – and to keep people active mentally and physically. Being involved in something like this would be of massive benefit to individual lives and to society.
Let me know if you can spare a day on October 10th to find out more and take no-obligation step towards possible active engagement or if you are interested but cannot attend on this date.
