On Wednesday 4 August 2014 St. Paul’s Church in Sale will be holding a special service to commemorate 100 years since the start of the First World War.
The church will be open from 11 am there will be very short prayers on the hour each hour until 10 pm when there will be a service of readings and music and at 11 pm at the time the war started the lights will go out to symbolise Europe plunged into darkness.

The Friends of Worthington Park will be holding their annual Family Sports Day in the Park  at 2.00pm on Sunday 13 July 2014.

The Annual General Meeting of the Friends of Worthington Park will be held at 7.30pm on Tuesday 8th July 2014 in the Bowling Club in the Park.

Sale Lions Club will be holding their traditional Fathers’ Day event in the Park on Sunday 15th June 2014. Starting at 12 Noon, Entrance is FREE.

A great family fun day with all the usual stalls, bouncy castle, fairground rides etc.

The Stroke Association are holding a Sponsored Walk in the Park at 1.30pm on Thursday 19th June 2014.

Fun Dog Show in the Park starting at 12 noon on Sunday 8th June 2014.
Signing in from 12 noon; Show begins at 1pm. £1 per class to enter. Entry forms from Lynda Marsden or enter on the day.
Stalls, children’s entertainment

As part of Sale Festival 2014, there will be a bowling competition in the Park starting at 12.30pm on Sunday 8th June 2014. Competition open to all Sale bowlers. Maximum of 56 places, so first come, first served.

Competitors play in random pairs in a round robin.

Prize money £50 to be shared between the winner and runner-up.

On 30 April 2014 Wynn Goggins unveiled a plaque and Red Oak tree that the Friends of Worthington Park have installed in memory of her late husband, Paul Goggins MP, who was a good friend of the Park.
