Friends of Worthington Park are delighted to receive a special tree from ‘The Queen’s Green Canopy’ (QGC) “Tree of Trees” which stood tall as a message of hope, regeneration and optimism to the nation and the world as part of her Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee weekend celebrations.
Friends of Worthington Park joins over 300 organisations from across the UK who were recently announced by the QGC as recipients of these special trees in The Queen’s name, which are gifted in a pot embossed with Her Majesty’s cypher.
Presented by the Lord Lieutenant of Greater Manchester, the tree will be planted on a date and location in Worthington Park to be notified.
The tree becomes part of the living legacy in honour of Her Majesty.
We are thrilled to be chosen for our contribution to the Trafford Community.
On 9 August 2022 Katy Wride (Chair of the Friends of Worthington Park) and Theo Langeveld (Secretary of Sale Vets Bowling Club) unveiled the plaque renaming the bowling green in memory of Arthur West. Arthur played on this green for over 70 years.
