Update on repairs to the play equipment in the Park that has been out of action for some months.
The good news is that the equipment is now in partial use as the protective barrier fence has been fitted. The equipment is safe to use but the net remains out of use and is cordoned off as we await parts for this from the supplier. The difficulty with play equipment parts in particular is that manufacturers do not always have spare parts ‘on the shelf’. Invariably they have to be either ordered from abroad or made to order.
The Council has said that the equipment will be repaired as soon as the parts are received from the manufacturer.

A planning application has been submitted to demolish Park House and the former Children’s Home and redevelop the site with 24 houses.
Please note that this does not mean that the path from Northenden Road, via this site, in to Worthington Park will be permanently closed. The application documents and plans make it clear that this route to the Park will remain open.

Please note that the training sessions at the outdoor gym are not running at present.

Spare parts for the damaged slide were ordered before Christmas and this equipment will be repaired as soon as these parts arrive.
