As part of Sale Festival 2018, the Friends of Worthington Park present Sale Brass Band in the Park. From 2pm on Saturday 30 June 2018.

Commemorating JP Joule

This year is the 200th anniversary of the birth of James Prescott Joule, the famous physicist.
To commemorate this famous scientist from Sale the Friends of Worthington Park are currently trying to raise funds to cover the cost of a piece of artwork.
The Friends have commissioned a well known local artist, Gordon Cooke, to create a ceramic pavement near the James Joule bust. This work will include information about Joule and we think it will act as a beautiful focal point for this area of the park.
We are aiming to get this installed this summer but we need to raise £7,000 for the artwork and a further £4,500 for the project management and installation – a total of £11,500.
We are hoping to raise the required amount through bidding for funds and donations. To date (May 16th 2018) we have raised £4,525 in funding but we still have a way to go and although we still have some bids being considered we have also set up a Just Giving page and all donations will be gratefully received

James Joule Commemoration Artwork

To commemorate the 200th annivrsay of the birth of the fmaous scientist James Prescott Joule, the Friends Group are currently trying to raise funds for a commemorative artwork in front of the exisiting Joule statue. We have already commissioned local artist Gordon Cooke to to create a ceramic pavement.

We ar applying for grants and othre funding but would welocme any donations to our crowd funding page.
