Barry Brookes, the gardener who works hard in all weathers to maintain the standard of Worthington Park. The Friends Group are very grateful for his help and support.

Spare parts for the damaged slide were ordered before Christmas and this equipment will be repaired as soon as these parts arrive.

The Friends of Worthington Park will be helping Father Christmas on their stall at the Friends of Walkden Gardens “Carols around the Dovecote” event in Walkden Gardens (off Derbyshire Road, Sale) on Saturday 6th December 2014 starting at 1pm.

Helpers decorating the Christmas Tree in the Park on Saturday 22 November 2014.

Please help to decorate the Christmas Tree in the Park (near the Joule statue). Meet at 11am on Saturday 22 November. We have the decorations from last year but more welcomed!

Both play areas have now re-opened. However, the slide is temporarily closed and awaiting repair.

BBC Children in Need Sponsored Walk in the Park by pre-school children on Friday 14 November 2014. Thanks to Emma Houston and the other organisers and, of course, the children.

The work on both the play areas will be complete once the specialist contractor has installed the special rubberized safety surfaces around the various items of play equipment. Subject to weather, completion date of the work is estimated to be 14 November 2014.

After the bulb planting session on 25 October, members of the Friends Group watched as Barry Brookes (Trafford Council gardener in the Park) raised the Green Flag that the Park was again awarded for 2014/15.
