On the morning of Saturday 25 October 2014 members of the Friends Group planted out a selection of bulbs in the triangular bed near the Cheltenham Drive entrance to the Park. Many thanks also to Trafford Council staff Dave Rome and Barry Brookes for their help.

Two years ago there was a 2013 calendar which featured the dogs that walk in Worthington Park. This year a similar calendar is being produced to raise funds for the Friends of Worthington Park.
If you’d like your dog to be in this 2015 calendar I’ll be out in the park (in the wildflower garden near the playgrounds) with cameras on Tuesday 28th October and Saturday 1st November from 10.15am – 11.15am and from 10.15am -11.15am but if you can’t be there at those times and want your dog to be in the calendar please contact me at jacquie.wilson@icloud.com and I’ll do my best organise to meet up with you to take some pictures.
For £15 you’ll get an A4 wall calendar with 12 colour pages which we aim to have available late November/early December. Additional calendars will be available at a cost of £12.00.

A contractor acting on behalf of Trafford Council is currently replacing the safety surfaces in the two children’s play areas in the Park.

We understand that this work may take 3 weeks to complete.

The Friends Group are organising a Car Boot Sale on the big field in the Park on Sunday 5th October 2014.

Entrance fee for sellers’ cars is £10 per car, payable at the gate. Entrance for sellers’ cars is only  via the gate at the end of Charlton Drive (M33 2BJ). Cars allowed in after 8.00am for official start at 8.30am. The event will finish before 1.00pm.

Buyers are admitted free.

The money raised by the sellers’ entry fees will go towards the upkeep and improvement of Worthington Park. 

An impressive new bench, in memory of Tom Howe who loved the Park and used to walk his dog Bobby here every day, has recently been installed in the wetland wild flower area.

The ball chute has now been re-painted.

The Alzheimer’s Society are organising regular Walk and Talk support group meetings for people with dementia in Trafford.
Meet every Tuesday at 10.30am at the Broad Road entrance to the Park.
